2003 Clone Wars he is this killing machine that can take on 5 Jedi at once and win without much issue, in the movie he escapes out a window when Anakin and Obi Wan break free at the start, then he begins running from Obi Wan again on Utapau once the fight stops going his way before being killed by Obi Wan singlehandedly.
The 2008 Clone Wars version of Grievous mirrors the movie Grievous far better, he'll fight but once it stops going his way he's outta there, he's a great fighter but not as good as the more capable Jedi are.
The 2003 Clone Wars made a lot of characters far more powerful than they are otherwise shown to be. Going by 2003 Clone Wars Mace Windu should have been able to win the arena battle on Geonosis in Ep2 on his own, as in 2003 Clone Wars he take out an entire army of Supers without his lightsaber. So going off that it should have been no issue for the Jedi to win that battle in the movie, yet they are defeated and the Clones have to come rescue them.
