I looked around on the internet and it seems everyone is having this problem. I think there was a patch at some point that screwed it all up.
I'm going to try the customer support at the developers to see if they will fix it...
I am using windows 10, Nvidia Graphics card.
On the desktop I can right click to the Nvidia control panel settings,
from there I can change the resolution and scaling,
I made sure to have my resolution settings as native to what my TV should take, on the scaling settings there is an option to override scaling mode set by games and programmes, I have that checked. Just made sure that the refresh rate matches the scaling and the resolution and that the scaling is performed by the GPU and not the Display.
The game works pefectly now with no problems at all.
I also removed the launch options on the game.
To set 1080p resolution.
Delete a file called vidmode.
Steams apps, common, Battlefront 2, data
Lvl pc, then scroll to the bottom. Delete it.
Main menu should be low resolution but can then set 1080p in options.
In game should be 1080p. Do not force 1080p in launch options as the main menu will try 1080p and become an uncoordinated mess haha
