You could try giving the DS4 DirectInput keys and then setting the game to read those inputs like a controller from the old days, but in my opinion emulating keyboard and mouse inputs using Big Picture built-in system will be faster and more malleable (you can make everything work if you've enough time, I have a working setup for playing Age of Empires 2 with a controller when I'm bored).
This game is also a little different default-keys wise compared to other shooters (zoom key being z for example), so I don't think the default configurations Steam offer will help. I have no idea if Battlefront 2 works with XInput (360 controllers and other modern ones) either, but I guess not given its age.
Is there a link to a video I can watch about building command sets?
Also, I have heard of, but am unfamiliar with DS4 DirectInput, so I would rather not go that route.
