Resolution Solved

[Friggin’ Packet Yo]

(What i posted from an earlier post concerning the resolution)
The game from release (as far as i know) has been hardcoded to a set resoultion
In order to fix this problem, right click SWB2 (in steam), go to properties and look for set launch options on the first tab. In there put -resolution xxxx xxxx (replace x's with desired resolution without the x between the two)
For example: -resolution 1920 1080

Edit: Hmmm. Going deeper into the menus, this may actually be a problem. So much for it not shifting around my desktop anymore.

Great find! BUT, it messes up the menus a bit, putting text in the wrong spots in some cases. It also makes any on-screen text and tooltips illegible because they're so tiny (at least for me at 1600x900 playing on a 37" TV 8 feet away)
Kinda a bummer, ciz I like the way it looks EXCEPT the text issues...

Yeah, idk if our menus are screwed up in the same way but on 1920x1080 some menus overlap like in the server browser but besides that problem, it does set it to your native res which is the main goal. But sadly i don't know of anyway of fixing the menu and text problems

Yea, as much as I want to use this fix, I don't think I could stand the text changes. Would be awesome to see a mod that fixed the text and menus to accomodate higher resolutions, but I'm not holding my breath

Well i believe there is a text file somewhere but idk where, that might be a more direct fix that could be without error or could just be the same as the steam fix. I imagine if you request it somewhere someone could look into it. Also, what is your text like?

For any of you who are still subscribed to the discussion, there's a new fix by [GT]Anakin that fixes all the bugs when in 1080p (widescreen). https://www.moddb.com/mods/star-wars-battlefront-ii-full-hd-interface

Now you can launch the game with the shortcut [GT]Anakin provided OR you can keep the launch parameters on your Steam and launch it that way. Either way, you'll experience no more bugs when in widescreen. I figured that out. i set my resolution to 1024x768 and the menus still overlap a bit but you can tell what the say
