Yeah, try playing dark souls with your mouse and keyboard. I'm sure you'll love it.
And as for some actual non-patronizing help, what kind of controller do you use?
Edit: Forgot to mention, if you use one of steam's supported controller types (I use an Xbox controller), you can load up a community made controller configuration. Worst case scenario, I can help you make one
I use this: https://www.gamestop.ie/Playstation%203/Games/58023 It's a wired generic PS3 type controller. I originally played this game and Battlefront 1 on the PS2. I wouldn't have any interest in playing it with a laptop mouse and keyboard. Thanks for the help.
The game has some pretty good keybinding for controllers so you should be good once you have a controller hooked up to your system and get everything set up in the settings.
Love it? I sure did.
I went through everything on Dark Souls 3 with Mouse and Keyboard. No regrets had.
first of all he's not talking to you D*ckhead, also what about fighting games ? marvel or smash ? what about 3d platformers ? what about local multiplayer / coop games ? there's plenty of instance where controller is more comfortable / superior / better
To start off, he didn't need to be talking to me for me to make a comment to his statement. Dark Souls 3 was a fun game that's quite nice with even M&K so I put it in a lil' cheeky manner to his obvious sarcasm. No harm done.
Second, I think you missed the first part of my post which showed me being supportive towards games having the proper implementation for controllers. I wasn't here trying to say that M&K was better than controller in all scenarios either.
There are a good number of games I'd happily play with controller like on my Switch though it would be pretty neat to see how they play with M&K input. Mario Kart is especially interesting when using the mouse for turning, acceleration, and item uses (You can play with just a mouse which is pretty awesome since I can drink at the same time). It's overall, for the most part, a matter of preference unless you're going for top optimization like with aiming in a FPS game or selection methods like for RTS ones.
But really though, just lighten up. I'm not here to get into input device elitism if that's how one can describe it.
M & K suck.
M&K input is very flexible for lots of games. Would recommend.
Just play with whatever you're most comfortable with.
