Game won't launch
Everything's in the title. Any clues as to why? I've been looking through topics and I haven't found anything about it.

1. Close Steam via task manager
2. Open Steam back up by running as admin
3. Launch game

Didn't work. I also tried launching BF2 as admin.

1. Right-click on the game title (Star Wars - Battlefront II) under the Library in Steam and select Properties.
2. Under the General tab click the Set launch options... button.
3. Delete everything in the text field and click OK.
4. Close the game's Properties window and launch the game.

Has nothing to do with custom launch options.

There's nothing in the text field...

go to: Library > right click SWBF2 > Properties > Local Files > Verify Game Cache

Already tried that too...
You're not telling me anything that I haven't already done myself.

Got it working. Directory was set as read only for some reason.

What did you do to fix it? I monitor the Steam forums helping people with issues related to SWBF2 and would appreciate another method to solve this particular problem.
