Star Wars: Battlefront 2 (Classic, 2005)

Star Wars: Battlefront 2 (Classic, 2005)

Unofficial v1.2 patch trouble, please help!
I downloaded "Unofficial Patch v1.2 & v1.3-r117+r129" from MOD DB.
Before I install 1.3 I need to install 1.2. I installed the mod to a folder where I hold mods and copies of mods for safe measure. I extracted the file "Battlefront II Patches" from the zip folder "Battlefront_II_Patches_unzip_anywhere.exe". Inside includes around 4 or so things includung an installation guide that tells me that to install 1.2 I simply run "SWB2v1-2_Setup_r2.exe" which is in the file along with the installation guide.
So I do that. I accept the terms and agreements, then get to the section where I 'Select Destination Location'. It auto wants to send it to "...SteamApps\common\SWB2\GameData\DATA" so I send it there. And then I start to realise it doesn't work.
I tried putting the 1.2 patch in the DATA folder, in just the GameData folder, and in just the SWB2 folder. All three of these I tried with both running the game from Steam and from the mod launcher I also go off of MOD DB called "Battlefront II EASY Mod Loader". Launching from Steam, the start menu told me the game was running on version 1.1, and launching the mod loader the mod list screen was blank, meaning I had no mods installed.
Can someone help me with this please? Looking at some tutorials I feel like I can install 1.3 pretty easy, but I need 1.2 and idk why it's not working. :(

no no no no no no NO NO NO.....

you do NOT need 1.2

never in my life have I needed 1.2
why? 1.3 has everything 1.2 has and MORE.
and also... 1.3 adds the needed files to Data and addon folder.
once again, you DO NOT NEED the 1.2
if you find a source telling otherwise, I'd like to correct them as well.

Well as I mentioned the installation guide of the mod itself said to install 1.2 first before installing 1.3. But if it's up and working for you then I'll take your word on it. I just need the unofficial patches for The Old Republic Mod.

o.O wut.
in which version of the 1.3? there's multiple versions

The one off of Mod Data Base (MOD DB). Here, I meantioned the title of the mod in the text box, download it to a file somewhere and look at the installation guid in the mod's file. It says to install 1.2 first.

I checked my files and see nothing mentioning it.... it only says you need the 1.1 which is the game version (this never changes).

No, you only need to install V1.3. There's no need to install V1.2 first, and I think you're supposed to uninstall V1.2 before installing V1.3.

I'm about 99.9% sure it will probably uninstall it by itself. even though, there is no mention of 1.2, I'm pretty sure it will uninstall it if you have it.

sonic65101 (IGF)SueKrueger13 This is what was in the installation guide in the the "Unofficial Patch v1.2 & v1.3-r117+r129" mod on MOD DB.

INSTALLATION

- Before installing, it's highly recommend to patch your game to v1.1 with the official patch file.
(I don't included it, because there are different versions for several regions.)

- After that, run the unofficial patch v1.2 setup file ("SWBFIIv1-2_Setup_r2.exe").

- Now you can install the unofficial patch v1.3-r117 by following the Installation Guide inside its folder.

- Finally install v1.3-r129 (by simply running the setup file) and you are ready to go :D

Hmmmm..... that doesn't sound right...

ok... I found the problem, the guy that uploaded it is NOT the creator and he is completely clueless....

I agree with Sue Krueger. That doesn't sound right. I know that the Steam version is already patched to V1.1. However, I installed V1.3 by installing the Conversion Pack, which automatically installs V1.3.

Okay, thanks. Well would you suggest I find a different version of the 1.3 mod or do I just use the 1.3 file in the mod I already have? Idk if there's a difference but you did call the guy clueless.

yes, both the Convo Pack 2.0 and also BFX automatically install the 1.3 patch. however, you can skip the installation in the setup process.

(side node; for the Convo Pack 2.0, you do need the Convo Pack 2.2 patch... thats the only mod I can think of that needs another mod/patch.... except MEU (Mass Effect Unification) that also has a patch you should download and then there's a map pack you should also download.)

http://www.medi afire.com/file/hi7jy0ul6pps9yc/SWBF2-v1.3patch+r129.exe

I uploaded this a while ago. it has all the creator's txt files etc.

Thanks!
I'm looking at the Conversion Pack 2.0 and 2.2 that include 1.3, since Conversion is labeled a mod and not a patch like 1.3 patch is, do you know if I would be able to run The Old Republic mod with Conversion? Running a patch and mod sounds like it would work, but running two game altering mods at once sounds like it could be a problem.

Sorry for the many questions btw, I'm still new at using mods outside of the Steam Workshop.
