DirectX9 Causing Issues!
I have windows 10 and a very high-end gaming PC with DirectX12.
When I installed the retail (disk) version of Battlefront II, I declined to install DirectX9, because I have a newer version, 12.

When I attempt to run Battlefront II, it says that it requires DirectX9 to run (even though DirectX12 is backwards compatible).

When I try to install DirectX9 from the Battlefront II disk via the launcher, it gives me an error saying that DirectX9 is not compatible with my version of Windows (Windows 10).

What can I do to get DirectX9 to work on my Windows 10 PC? Or am I just screwed?

EDIT: I bought the Steam version, works like a charm. \thread

You can try restarting your operating system (AKA da computer).

Been there; done that.
Restarting didn't and wouldn't help my situation.

Well, sorry, buddy. Windows 10 comes preinstalled with DirectX12. Maybe you should get the Steam version?

What OS do you use, and did Battlefront II work "out of the box" for you?

I use Windows 10, and the Steam version ran perfectly for me, even after cramming a lot of mods into it.

All right. I think I'll just drop $10 and grab the Steam version. Thanks, Tykylo.

You just need to run the game in Windows XP compatibility mode. Works around the DirectX 9 issue.

Compatibility mode works like a charm. I forgot that even existed it's been so long since I've had to use it :P
