Is it not permanent at Legendary status, then?
I don't know if it's EVERY sharpshooter, but I was playing Galactic Conquest as the rebels and noticed, "Hey, this character is actually running really fast." I don't remember if the others have the same speed (On the one hand, I'd assume they're fairly even, but on the other, I don't remember speedy sniperclones zipping around) but using that speed to close in for an accurate and powerful middle range weapon is actually pretty appealing to me.
So I guess, either way, I'm okay with it?
Also... Snipers can cause a lot more damage than you think if they have all the awards except for Beam Rifle.
I'm pretty much the best sniper female in multiplayer, so I know how the class works. Its also one of the main classes for competitive tournaments and events within clans and such.
The Beam Rifle is pretty bad, but as long as you don't unlock it or if you do, as long as you don't switch to your pistol, you won't have it.
Also, a little tip, move as much as possible and don't camp in one spot. In multiplayer, people usually take out any snipers that camp in one spot.
And I wanted to add; Kamino is perfect for sniping.
But so is; Coruscant, certain parts of Death Star, Endor, Geonosis, Hoth, Utapau, Yavin 4, Felucia, Kashyyyk, Mygeeto, Nabbo, Dagobah, Mos Eisley, and certain parts of Polis Massa (I realize I pretty much mentioned nearly all the maps. Tantive IV is more difficult to snipe in but also fun). There are some mod maps pretty great for sniping also, like Bespin, Alderaan, Rhen Var.
Also, snipers are pretty fast at moving. Not just the Rebel sniper.
Anyway, if you ever need any sniping tips, let me know
Here's my last competitive sniper video I took with a friend;

Honestly, as a fan of fast-moving, high risk characters, I'm starting to really warm up to the sniper now that I've noticed how quickly it really moves. (It also helps that I feel the Clone Sniper generally looks pretty cool - and the rebel sniper is sometimes female, which is a nice change of pace.) So, between the speed and the aesthetics, I'm now officially training up with the class. I'm not intending to main it or anything, but I'd like to be at a similar skill level with every class.
Before now, I basically used the blaster rifle and pistol for anything resembling "sniping" (I mean, the blaster rifle can basically span Kamino's entire exterior and still be decently reliable if they're sitting still - such as in a turret, and only gets more accurate when upgraded.) Needless to say, it's a bit of a learning curve, so thanks for the map suggestions! I really needed those, since Kamino is a bit too... exploitable? I mean, between the turrets and all... heh. If anything, it's mainly good for unlocking the beam rifle, which isn't exactly the point, apparently.
(My only concern is that while getting good with the sniper, I'll unlock the permanent Beam Rifle, but oh well. I'm sure I can keep a secondary profile saved in a zip folder with everything else unlocked but that, and just replace it any time it happens. Or I can just try to get good with it for the bragging rights, who knows what I'll end up doing?)
But yeah, thanks again. Very much appreciated. I haven't watched the video just yet since I'm still playing and occasionally alt-tabbing out to see if I got an email I was waiting for, but I'll check it out once I close the game.
Np :)
Kamino is really great to snipe in but there's tons of spots in other maps that are just as great. smaller maps are more challenging, but also fun once you get the hang of it and stay alive.
I personally don't like the Beam Rifle, so, switching profiles or keeping it is entirely up to you.
anytime and I hope you enjoy it :P
