Es ist schön die neue Roadmap zu sehen,
da freut man sich wirklich sehr auf die kommenden Updates.
Vielen Dank für eure konstante Arbeit,
das Game wird noch weit kommen.
New calls? New things you can do when playing, like bank robberies, forest fires, arresting highly dangerous suspects, dealing with terrorist incidents, witness protection, more calls needing all 3 departments, motorcycles or any new vehicles and so much more suggested by the community. LIke suspects getting in a car and trying to escape when they see officers approaching. And what about fail conditions. Features that will actually make you want to rush to the site because right know you can eat, sleep and then go to the incident. No worries.
Also, what about face customization. Will the suspects be the same with different clothing for the next year or two? Seriously? And players the same too. Only two or three faces. You mentioned in the forums there will be customization. When? In four years? And why will the day night cycle and the weather be added after 1.0? Is it not easier to add weather than to code AI backup.
Additionally, players being civilians sounds good but what will they be doing? They need to be able to steal something, rob a store or commit a burglary. Or murder someone or start a fire in a gas station which will cause a huge fire. Something other than saying hi to officers.
Furthermore, texture and sound mods might be requested but will give no more hours of doing something new.
I have to say I am very disappointed by the announced roadmap. Our gaming team really hopes you guys reconsider and add more features, customization, variety and actual content that will say hey come back and try this and that.
Mods have proven in every single game that offers official support to keep the game alive long after development has finished, and during slow development periods in between major updates. They are crucial to the lifespan of your game and if you're smart, you'll make sure you do it right.
Optimization is even more important, because right now, the game becomes unplayable with more than about 5-6 people in a server. The frame rate drops and stuttering are absolutely intolerable, and it's frankly mind-boggling that you're experimenting with 20-player servers when even the default 10 doesn't run worth a crap when full. Please, for the love of the gods, fix the performance. The game runs fine in single player or with small groups but the server setup you're using right now simply cannot handle large groups of players in a single game. Also opening up the game to dedicated servers (you don't even need to host them yourselves, there are hundreds of third-party companies out there who do nothing but host games for people) would be a good idea tying into this, instead of relying on players to run the server locally on the same machine they're actively playing on.
Do these two things and just about everything else will fall into place.
