Bye Bye Febuary
Without a patch and/or new content on febuary, we all can talk about: is the game dead ? Is the game will be updated like they told us ? Each month an update ? I think we all got the answer now. NO !

We all know, each month this game got an updated version and new content around each end of month since the launch of the Beta Version. So what can know about ? Not much cause the dev are on mute. ( It was easy on past month ) to accuse the covid-19 for delayed stuff on other games or this one. But so far, it's not a good excuses.

I saw some good game with lots of peoples going to death with tons of excuses like if it was an employee calling to take a fake medical break, but it's in a gaming world where excuses is not always a good answer. This game is awesome, and if we have to wait for an update we all can live with it. I think it's can be a good thing from the DEV to talk to their community and let them know about what's happened, and the plan of the upcomming patch.

Not all peoples know how to go on test branch, and it's not the point of playing a beta version of the game to transfer on a beta ( BETA ) branch.

In conclusion: I really think the game is going somewhere, but just don't forget... it's the same DEV that did Enforcer: Police Crime Action and kill the game to come with Flashing Light. Don't do the same mistake guys.

Here the lastest message on Enforcer: Police Crime Action: Hello Everyone,

As many of you may know, Enforcer has not received any updates for quite some time. Odin Game Studios, the development team that worked on Enforcer has since been closed permanently and the team has split up and began working on other titles. Unfortunately, this means that there will be no more updates to Enforcer as the developer has shut down.

Since Enforcer, as a publisher we have been working on games like Jalopy, Dad Quest, Shoppe Keep, Floatlands and Tracks: The Train Set Game. These are of course titles that probably don’t interest many of you here, but since publishing Enforcer we’ve learnt a lot and have evolved to try and do the best we can.

We have been working on a new game for several months with a new developer that has no relationship with Odin Game Studios. which combines Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Services with online multiplayer.

Take a look at: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/318220?updates=true&emclan=103582791436304209&emgid=3931035846864033905

Tell me if the game look like the screen shot atm ;) Just saying :) But hey i'm the first one to wish it look like this one day and be polished as they showed us back in 2017

We have pushed updates to our unstable branch, usually announced on our Discord, so we can weed out any major issues before releasing to everyone, however feel free to test the new version.
To access the unstable branch you can do the following:
- Load up Steam and head to your library
- Right click on Flashing Lights and then select "Properties"
- Head to the Beta tab and in the drop down select "unstable_test_branch" (no password needed)
- This will then download the new update for you

This was meant for possible January update, but then we saw opportunity to optimize even more and so we took that path. Though going forward we have shared updates in Unstable branch during February.

We want to be more open with updates this year, there is no set dates. Getting closer to release out of early access we want to polish more and split tasks as needed and not obligated to squeeze in one month updates.
Took more time to fix things so moved from one month to another, we understand we have to put out an update asap specially due stable build having the crash issues and lack of optimizations, however we will see if it needs more days. We will include all possible information about our plans in coming update release.

And regards the Enforcer, I have not worked on that title or any other game.
Flashing Lights is my first game and I am here working on it.

Hi there,

FL is far from dead. The update had to be pushed back to some unforeseen problems, which the dev is still dealing with and is working hard to fix.

The dev, nor the staff team have been mute. The Steam forums aren't nearly as active as the Discord, where we get people asking and curious about what's going on, and the dev and moderation team keep people informed. I do think in the future, if there are delays we probably should have a post on Steam forums explaining the situation. However, back to your point about the dev being mute, that is very much incorrect, and development is not dead. On that same note, I religiously reply to almost every thread on here, and as a moderator, I speak on behalf of the dev, who tries his best to reply to everyone, but at the end of the day is 1 man who also has to work on the game. It's a juggling act, that why he has moderators.

I'm not sure where you got this information, but the developer of FL, Nils Jarkins, is not the same as the developer for Enforcer, whose name was Kaligus. They are completely different games by different people. Also worth noting, the discussion you referenced was something I posted. I wouldn't be here defending Nils if it was the same crappy Enforcer dev.

Worth noting, the post you're referencing? It says FL is developed by someone new.

This project is being developed by a new developer and can be played co-operatively online with up to six players on a 7km x 7km map (Though the number of players that can play together may increase over time).

I also think you might be confused. The Publisher is not the same as the Developer. Publishers publish games. Developers make the game.

A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

You both convince me right there, and it's true that is not the same developers. I did not realize it at my first look at both game. I have to say i made a good mistake there but both of you gave me good answer to those questions. I'm happy Reddington [Red] is an active member on the publication around flashing light and gave us good answer each time. A big thank you from Nils [ Dev ] for the answer there too. Both of you put a light on the black srceen i had and was looking for a steam discussion from dev for sure but it's true; in 2023 discord is a more accessible way to be closer with a community. Long live you game, i'm a big fan and i can't wait for the futur.

Well, now that you know, maybe you should double check things in the future. Having a little respect is always appreciated to anyone especially someone who works hard to make a game as good as possible. Maybe next time, don't come out all angry before you double check things. I'd be frustrated if someone falsley accused me of something and so would you. The apology is good but I really think the devoted Nils and Reddington should be a little respected instead of yelled at.

P.S. I think the game is getting better every month. Though, plz be more transparent on updates. That would be great. I do think that mods and character customization should have been one of the first things worked on that way more could accumulate over time. Also any chance you could add backup in the future? Like sending roadblocks and other units.

P.S. 2, I It would be greatly GREATLY appreciated if you guys could come out with a tutorial on how to create a mod. I am so confused and don't know how to create a mod and want to create a mod myself. I have a MacBook air fyi.

Thanks for this game! Great work and appreciation here!!
