Sirens for PC
Can you roll this back or let us be able to change it back, you cannot drive and hit 9 buttons, I would rather have it the way it was with more siren options 9 keys we cant hit in while chasing someone is a waste. Any luck adding any Chevrolet Police Cars 2011-2017 Caprice or maybe a Camero there are alot of not Dodge or Ford guys out there.

All you have to do is opt out of the beta testing and it'll go back to how it was but I agree. Not a fan of the new sirens or the process to use them.

In case you both didn't know, there was another update today to change the sirens. The keybind issues will be fixed. :)

Firedude, I'm not sure what you mean. Using them is very easy. Can you please explain?

With WASD + mouse on a QWE keyboard setup it can get tricky to use 34567890 as you either a have to take your hand off the mouse or (most often W) to activate the siren. The old system where you just pressed 2 for the normal siren and while they were on H for the air blast. The new system is a bit clunky for those who only want just 2 on the spot controls.

Since you can rebind things but still need to press 2 to open the siren menu up just to turn them on I would suggest that when 2 is pressed the first non manual siren is activated automatically and the Horn is binded to h by default. Another thing that could be changed is to have a button that can change the siren sound (and for the future light pattern) between the options.

It has been suggested to 600 and I believe it's planned to add a single button to cycle sirens.

My issue is exactly what was already mentioned. The sirens them selves are easy to use I just don't like that when you press 2 you then have to press more numbers to change the siren tones. I haven't checked since the update today. What I was hoping the siren customization would be is when you select the siren tones in the vehicle menu that when you press 2 that was the siren you would get. Not having to fumble with all those buttons when driving would be really nice.

So tried the new update and still don't like the key bindings for the new sirens. Also It would be really nice if you could hear what they sound like while you are customizing it so you don't have to keep going back into the customization screen to change to them hear what they sound like.

You already can hear them while customizing. :) Press the individual keybinds for the tones.

I really enjoy how Nils did it. I know it can be frustrating trying to drive and mess with binds, but I never use my mouse when driving, and set my siren keybinds to numpad keys. Works like a charm.

As I said before, though, I believe Nils will add a single button to cycle sirens.

That I didn't know. Wish something indicated that you could test and hear them. I'll keep play with it. I do use my mouse to move the camera but I may try setting my numpads to do the sirens. It is nice to have a game though where the developers actually listen to everyone. Nils is doing a great job!

Just change the key to the number thing by the number pad to the right side of the keyboard. I did that with the GTA police mod and that worked nicely. Also, it is a good idea to put both options the single key or multi-key for the Sirens because ppl might like different things and in real life, PD needs to push keys to activate the Sirens.

ok I just make a video for it
https://youtu.be/djoOeHGPFVo

it work fine

BTW HD version is processing on youtube right now this is on SD for now

I agree with OP. I wish you would roll it back and have a different key cycle the siren sounds. In real police cars (at least the ones I have experience with) there is a 4 position lever on the control box. 1 is OFF, 2 is Rear deck (all rear facing lights), 3 is front and rear (all flashing lights on), 4 has all lights on with a higher speed intensity of overhear lights and the siren is constant on. If I want to change the siren tone there is a rotating knob with yelp, wail, phaser etc and pressing the horn on the steering wheel does phaser to clear intersections.

Having a separate button to activate the siren selection wheel that stays on that setting would be great and leaving keyboard 3 and D-pad right to only turn on lights and siren I think would help with immersion. Maybe having a key to map to be phaser or another high intensity temporary siren tone change for intersection clearing would be on point!
