I bought this game on Steam and the Oculus Quest store, and I gotta say...
Never once did I think I'd have more fun on my inferior HMD the Oculus Quest than my $1000 HMD the Valve Index.

This game was clearly not updated for the Index Controllers and it shows. On top of that, there isn't any of the new content from the Quest version.

Did the devs just give up on the PCVR version?

The support for the game was dead before the Index came out, that's why there is zero support for the knuckles which clearly shows. It plays way better on Rift or Quest, by far.

The new content is not present because the Quest version is a new version of the game made by a totally different development team, that will probably never appear on PC.

As a huge fan of the game on PC I have to say the Quest version is pretty amazing, actually better than the original.

How did that happen? It seems pretty messed up to me

I wanted to buy this game on Steam, I have Oculus Rift, but now that I understand that it is no longer updated I don't think I will buy it.

For those of us who refuse to buy a Quest for their headset specific crap. Is there a work around for the rest of us? It seems like they should update the standard in death with the Unchained features.

Of which I know nothing.

As a Vive 1.0 user since launch (now former Vive user)... the Quest 2 is the best VR headset I've owned thus far. 299 is a bargain.

Its the spirit of the thing.

I refuse to buy a product made by Facebook.

My Vive is already wireless too. So whats the point of an upgrade until Eye tracking and wireless become a thing

It's not the same developer. The original dev abandoned the game. It was picked-up by a new developer who built the game for the quest. There will never be an update for the PC version.

Saying that your "Vive is already wireless too" means you don't understand what the Quest is or you are being disingenuous. The Quest IS the VR rig... all of it. Display, controllers, PC, the works. You can take it to a friends house, to the mall, the park, wherever. No PC needed to operate. Just a headset. The point of "upgrading" is that you can have VR on the go wherever you want and the experience is not significantly diminished from a Rift, Vive, or Index. For the price it's the best thing on the market, hands down.

Go buy your POS Facebook owned ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ then.

You're the disingenuous one. Not everything plays on Quest because its not a comparable product.

Huh? I play this on Index and have no issues with controls. In fact I like the whole touchpad usage. It's done pretty well.

You are missing out on all the new updates and content that has been released. We received a big stick up the butt to all steam owners of In Death

I don't really care about that. The topic of the thread was about controllers not working but like I said the Index controllers work great and are fully functioning. I am enjoying playing In Death right now. I know there's a sequel In Death Unchained that's Quest exclusive but I'm not bothered by that.
