Crossbow or the regular bow?

Recently started playing this game again, and saw that they've added a crossbow.
What do you guys prefer, and why?

I have no intention to try and beat the crazy highscore of 31 million something, but it would be interesting to know if the top players have successfully made the crossbow an efficient weapon to play with.

The crossbow has totally ruined this game. It was a perfect archery game, now it's .... I don't even know how to describe it anymore.

The XBow is necessary to get one specific achievement. I personally don't like it and have spent almost all my 250 hours with a Bow. The game is different. The bow has a fluid motion to it... the XBow is more like a gun. There are certainly huge advantages to the XBow:

you can fire much faster, almost like a machine gun... the pulling length is much shorter;pull is always 100% at the maximum strength, while the bow is notyou can enter a room with an already pulled bolt - ready for you to just pull the trigger, and still bring up your shield

The disadvantages of the Xbow now:

the long distance aiming is not cool... forces you to change your stance and how you hold the weaponthe same trigger is used to bring up your shield and pull the string, invariably messing you up in critical situationssome key combo allows you to hold the XBow with two hands, which happens sometimes when you don't want it, and messes you up

Anyway, this is a fantastic Bow archery game. I'm sticking with the bow.

Thanks for the input. I prefer the regular bow as well, for all the reasons you mentioned. But I'm intrigued to give the crossbow another shot after watching the video above. Don't really like the close combat style, but it's always fun to learn new things. Would love to see a good crossbow action in Lost Paradise though.

Yeah, the crossbow has changed the game substantially. It's too powerful and so makes the game far less strategic...I've been working with it but it's not as fun to use even though it's more powerful. If you want to play for a high score you had better use crossbow but for sheer fun I would use the bow.

Maybe it is impressive. But I don't have 150 buck to spend every 3 months.

Yeah dudes, HTC wand quality is poor at best and clicking and playing at this rate is just gonna wreck the plastic under the button and ruining the elasticity.

I already had to replace 2 controllers in 2 years.

Bow for me. Touched the crossbow gameplay once and I'll never touch it again. Sensations suck.

I only have tried the crossbow once. I'll have to go back and try it again just to clear that achievement, but I really like playing with the regular bow an arrow.

I use the Crossbow because my crappy $160 Mixed Reality headset can't fully extend the bow string unless I stare at my pulling hand the whole time until I release. Which as you can imagine is a problem.

Bow for me for sure. Way more immersive and involved but no way to get top scores with a bow, you got to shoot everything in the head 50 times and you cant fire that fast with the bow. I agree with Brink686 that we need two leader boards.

Am I the only one who actually much prefers the crossbow? I just picked this game up, and it feels so much more consistent... And pre-loading a bolt before teleporting is great to take out the bowmen with a single headshot.
