I've gotten to Academic Records mission and after social engineering the target user/client's password when I goto do

>shellmail Clientname@password x.x.x.x

On first load of the game I get a remote terminal with the title dialog box changed to whois x.x.x.x in red (default theme) but it is not a remote terminal and none of the escalation tools will work here (please add whoami). If I close the terminal window via exit and enter the exact same command in a new terminal I get an error for the username/password. As the server's only open ports are smtp v1.0 and http v2.0 (no tools support this as far as I can tell).

Is this a bug or is there some other way to access an account on the server to pivot+escalate?

Edit: is there a Syntax issue where I need to change the [e-mail] to work with the username@password format for shellmail? Attempting to login to the mail client as the Client returns bad user/pass.

Confirming the red terminal is some sort of bug via another mission, terminal sessions aren't changing over when exploting remote targets unless done in a fresh terminal.
