Need help: ftp-server and get and put
Hi Guys,

I try to complete a mission... I have guest access to the remote machine and connected via ftp to my machine...
When I type in "put passwd" it seems, that it worked. When I then type in ls the file is listed on my machine, but when I open the filemanager, the file isn't there.

What am I doing wrong?

you need to launch ftp into the /ect folder or do "put /etc/passwd"

Hi, I try to explain it again...

I open Terminal.exe
type shellweb victims-ip
type ftp myuser@mypwd myip
type put /etc/passwd
type ls and I see the files on my machine and the just copied passwd-file
if I now open the filemanager on my machine, there is no passwd-file

ok i see, i dont know, it should have worked, does the issue reproduced itself, and do you opened the file explorer on the right machine ?

Is this your own ftp server? If not, and you're trying to grab the passwd file to crack the root account, you'll need to use "get" not "put".

I couldn't quite tell whose server you're guested on.
