Well how about asking an actual question? What are you trying to do exactly?

As far as I know to delete any given log you need to either be the "root" user, or you need to be logged in as a user that has "write" permissions to the /var/system.log file.

You may also need to sudo LogViewer.exe, although last time I played this didn't work.

So you first had to 'sudo -s' to get a root shell, and then simply running LogViewer.exe gave you write access to the log file.
