Are the HackStore missions possible?

So, I've been toying with the hackstore missions for a couple hours now, and I haven't seen any of them that are completable.

One issue I've been having is with StudentViewer. I've tried using the program, but each time, there's no students loaded into the viewer. It works for EmployeeViewer, because there's a employees.db file, but I've yet to see a student.db file or anything. It just gives me a generic picture without any information at all.

Another issue I've had is with actually getting into the servers. Http services, for example, have been running beyond what the hackstore offers. Sometimes there's no availible ports beyond students and employees, which means they're not accessible (no smtp either). ShellMail says it doesn't have the correct username/password. Employees don't know their administrators and won't give their passwords out. Shellweb, which I get in with the most, doesn't do anything, because the computers have no important files on them. Sometimes, there isn't even a StudentViewer instance on the computer in the first place.

It seems like, at the moment, there's no way that you can change anyone's Academic Records, because you either can't get into the computers, or the records don't exist. The credentials mission doesn't seem to work either, because I've yet to find a way to enter the user and password into the email that the mission handler accepts.

Am I dumb, or are the mission currently broken?

I am preparing the next update that I hope will be ready in a few days, in which I am reviewing the mission system and fixing other problems that users have reported to me like employees who do not know their admins, etc.

In any case studentsviewer should work without problems. I have it in mind for the next update.

Are you playing multiplayer or singleplayer? Right now singleplayer is more stable than multiplayer.

I'm in single player at the moment. Here's what my StudentViewer.exe look like I went back and got a screenshot of it, but this has been happening to me for a while, even after creating new games.

You need to change the note from the required asginature using StudentsViewer.exe. Afterwards, you respond without any text to the mail of the mission.

i tried it now another 2 times and iam kind of sick of trying doing them.
(and i tried them often)

1. you cannot connect because all ports are closed ( known bug )
2. there is no studtendsviewer.exe not in /bin or in /usr/bin or in home/users/* or in /server or anyhwere else
3. if you manage to get lucky to hav a server with studensviewer.exe you get a balank empty window. where you can change nothing ( database missing )

4. Don´t know how employees viewer should behave but mostly i can open them and see all the stuff but cannot make any changes. (But this is not working with any studentsviewer.exe i found and i tried it at least 20 times now)

This is pretty consistent with what I've observed. Except for the EmployeeViewer.exe, I still have not got that to work.

Are any of the two missions possible?

it seems that is not working in latest builds probably due to a regression bug, sorry!. I'm reworking the mission system in next update v0.5 that will fix this problem.

The "credentials needed" missions work fine if you manage to access the server. The information needed is in the 'passwd' file.

wondering what the point of web3xploit is. if you have access to the server anyway, you can simply download the passwd and decipher it.

opening 2 filebrowsers, locate web3xploit and upload it seems a bit more troublesome to me.

If i remember correctly the dev has said, that many of the systems are much simpler atm. For example, you don't need admin access for most of the things in game.

I would imagine that more folders and files will be unavailable to 'guest' users in the future. This is what I think the web3xploit will be used for.

well true. but if i limit file access for guest users, i would disallow them to upload files too... if we talk about security measures.

Yeah, I am just speculating, I have no idea how it will be implemented. Maybe we will have to smuggle it onto the system somehow.
