Can't use shovel? (ch.1)

I am in the digging out route and there's no way to use the shovel both close up and zoomed out. I went to the inventory and tried to hover on the picture and everything?

Hello, did you right-click at item in inventory and use it on veglamb?

Oh. I thought you had to hover over the picture and press 'Use' like with the letter. I got it now, thank you.

No problems) It's works when item used in inventory, like open a bottle, read letter, without using it at location. All items, that can be used this way, have small stars symbol on their icons.
