How to play the game on windows 7 ?

I have the The Dig on a 1995 CD-disc but obviously I can't play it on windows 7, though I've heard you can use ScummVM to play it but I've downloaded it and don't know how to play the game, if anyone is familiar with ScummVM would you please help? Thanks.
PS-I probably wont buy it on steam when I got the CD-disc, and I have used ScummVM as a kid to play The Dig but it wasn't me who downloaded it and I had no idea how it worked. I know though that I probably should use the 'Add game' button.

Yeah, "add game." Then you have to navigate to your cd drive. Once you have that open the "DIG" folder and choose select (or open, or enter or whatever the button is named in the english version of ScummVM). After that the game will either run or just be added to the main ScummVM window, in which case just select it and press "start."
