Anyway as far as The Dig goes (and PROBABLY Loom, and Indy games as well) you can try using the ScummVM engine. Just tested it a minute ago and works fine with this version of The Dig.
ScummVM is free, just google it.
Once you install it click "add game" find The Dig's main folder and confirm the selection (you don't have to choose the exe file, just navigate to the main folder where it is located). The game should show up on the list. Choose the game and click start.
------------
As far as DosBOX goes I think you might have more luck describing your problem on their forums.
So i figured out that the lucas arts games work, but only in windowed mode. When i hit alt+enter for fill screen i still hear music but everything is black.
I do have scumm that I use for my GOG version of Kings Quest VI(?).
Scumm VM will NOT play the Steam versions of the games. It shows the exe for the game but its greyed out
Just tried indy and the dig. Both go fullscreen. I feel it looks bad though, maybe its in my head but yeah, seems fuzzy
Treid changin options in scumm interface, no dice,
You need change Windows Registry. Type in console regedit and find "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\LucasArts\\The Dig".
Fixaspctratio change 16:9 or 4:3 (0 or 1) and smoothgraphics change smooth filter (0 or 1).
Sorry for me English.
