Fantastic gameplay, music, graphics combine into a mood that grabbed me like few games do.

I have played plenty of roguelikes and I can gladly say that this is one of the most fun I have had. It absurdly and satisfyingly FUN. It's fast, fascinating and you never know how the next room will be. Bosses and enemies has plenty of variations and it never feels boring. Not the hardest one I have played (or maybe I'm too okay at bullet hells) but it provide just enough fun to not be dull or too hardcore. Weapons are extremely fun to pick up and when you find a combination you like it feel ecstatic. I have no freaking clue about the story and what's happening, but that makes it even better. Music is simply amazing and visual are a top tier. Did I also tell there are tons of secrets?

I haven't so super far into the game, but the only thing that fears me is that it will be rather short amount of time to put for your usual rouguelike. But to be fair, for the price you are paying and what you get (which also includes a dlc) it absolutely worth it.

I don't know, I just feel super excited playing this game and was way beyond my expectations. Team D-13, I want more of this, thanks.

Extremely fun and easy to digest rougelite bullet hell with awesome retro music.

It's a simpler, twin-stick equivalent of Scourgebringer.

Cons:
* The graphics style is very simple and retro, I absolutely love retro and pixel games (I started my gaming career with ZX Spectrum and NES), but this game's style is just a tad too dull.
* The play area is very small, which is partly compensated by a miniscule hitbox.
* The soundtrack on first level is stupid and breaks the immersion.

Otherwise, this is an absolutely awsome twin-stick, bulletswarm little roguelite. Very good way to let out steam out of your head while your code is compiling. :trollface:

Such a small and gorgeous game that makes me sad that it didn't get more attention so that I know more about it sooner !

Star of Providence is an awesome take on the rogue-like genre, everything I enjoyed with The Binding of Isaac or Enter the Gungeon is here, but with awesome pixel graphics, a moody atmosphere and some incredible bullet hell patterns alongside intense bosses. This is really damn good! 10/10

The game is fun and the pudding is cute

As an avid indie game and bullet hell fan, I don't say this lightly: Star of providence is one of the best games I've ever played.
There's some unique stuff I really like - weaving between bullets is crazy satisfying, because your hitbox is a tiny little dot in the center of your ship. The true final bosses pull zero punches and acknowledge the fact that you've just saved up all your resources to beat them; they are VERY difficult. All items in the game have a use, even when you're full on ammo and health. The powerups on the different floors (conduits) are well balanced and fun to use. Weapons in this game all feel completely unique, with tons of different "keywords" that totally change their function, as well as rare artifact weapons. Also the bosses are SUPER ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cool
The thing that really hooked me, though, is the extremely cryptic lore. I pushed through absurdly difficult challenges because I wanted to know more about it. I just completed my first S rank run as of writing this - and I can say that everything was tied together at the very end.
Seriously, play this game, it's so worth it
