Cheers!
In addition to that, killing enemies without getting hit raises your multiplier. Use bombs to avoid getting hit (especially since they recharge every three rooms) and keep up the score multiplier because that means you will have more debris to buy stuff in the shops. Also clearing rooms gives you a chance to find new items as well. I'd say good upgrades to get in the terminal are: increased item drops, 1/3 health increase (on later floors is even better), the revive (if you have the dlc), blink/I-frame dash, 33% shop discount, and 10% weapon increase. There are other good choices but these seem to work for me, if you prefer other upgrades you can ignore these :) Also if you unlocked the Last-Wish (ability that fully heals you), you should skip the terminal on the last floor until right before the boss if you haven't picked it up in that run, since you will have a chance at a full heal. Also it's a nice idea to save the one that gives you a choice of four really good weapons until the end
I'd also recommend not getting too attached to weapons, since you will need to swap them eventually and ammo is not always guarnteed. If you get a good gun, you can try to save it and clear rooms/buy ammo at the right times, but just be careful or you may end up having to deal with using your default gun
When it comes to getting hit a lot, I'd say its practice. If you have the dlc, there is a mirror item you can unlock which helps you practice the bosses which can be helpful. When it comes to focusing on these types of games, I'd say focus on dodging more then what you are aiming at, and the faster the bullets, the earlier you have to react to them. If a bullet is on the opposite side of the screen and not coming towards you, it doesn't matter so focus on the ones about to hit you! I know this may be a bit obvious, but I personally think these are the best practices. Also I'd say try to stay calm in these moments, if you get hit brush it off and dodge what you can. For me at least, I find it pretty easy to get overwhelmed if you don't haha!
Good luck on your future runs! :)
You didn't really tell me anything new, but your will to help made me shed a few joyful tears.
Thank you, stay awesome.
Best tips ever. I managed to beat the boss, get all the seals and finish the game after only a few runs after I started switching weapons constantly and choosing damage over health. Thanks a lot! Time for hard mode, I guess.
