How do I unlock other ships?

I bought the game and DLC together and see some people saying the DLC made the game a bit harder (which is fine because I don't know the easier version)

But how does one unlock these cool new ships? Dont get me wrong I love Null, but I wanna see what else it out there haha

You unlock the first new ship when you beat the game. All the other ships are unlocked after that.

Meaning all other ships get unlocked when you beat the game as well..?

Separate requirements for each. After beating the game for the first time, the ship you're most likely to unlock next (excluding the ship which automatically unlocks) can be found in a random encounter within shop rooms, for example. Most other ships require completing certain endings/killing certain bosses.

Most ships will be unlocked just by playing the game, nothing particularly complicated required
