I'm loving the game so far, a great addition to the Isaac, Gungeon, etc family. I do have a couple quick questions...
1. Is dash generally of minimal value? The lack of invincibility while dashing and chance of dashing into an enemy bullet make it seem of minimal value. Maybe I'm missing something.

2. Am I correct in feeling that the relatively limited variety of upgrades is a weakness in the game at the moment? I feel like a greater variety of upgrades would result in a even greater variance from run to run and push that drive for one more run.

there's a ton of upgrades, you just have to make progress in the game just like ETG.
The dash mechanic hs NO i-frames. you will need it to dodge some patterns from boses, but usually it;s just to move faster.

Thanks for the info on dashing...regarding upgrades, I have seen that there is plenty to unlock...in fact I unlocked a ton on my very first run when some beginner's luck carried me all the way to the Bellows. Specifically, I was referring to the upgrades you can choose from once a floor from a choice of 3 (sorry, don't know the proper name...item room??) such as enemies take longer to activate. Are there a lot of those to unlock as well? I'd love more variety in that portion of the game. Thanks again!

If you take the Blink upgrade within a run, you gain some i-frames when you appear at your destination, and the teleportation aspect allows you to pass through certain attack patterns easily.

EDIT: Most of the Upgrade Terminal upgrades (13 out of 14) are in the pool from the outset. Only one, Second Wind, must be unlocked first before it can appear.

As far as unlocks go, there are a lot more weapons (and weapon mods, called Keywords) to unlock than upgrades.
