al hail the mighty razor.
At all.
Maybe it should have some bonus properties like Drill, or maybe just increase weapon range little bit... . Damage is ok if you choose single beam or shotgun keyword ( or triple + homing combo ), but it's not good enough to be worth the risk.
I wish there was an option to manualy salvage current weapon to add more flexibility. Some weapons are pretty good for clearing normal rooms, but during boss fight i would rather switch to regular peashooter, especially if ' Reserve ' upgrade is active...
Having said that I don't know that it needs a change... Bad items in rogue-likes are a thing. Even cursed items in some of them.
I wouldn't feel like I beat it until I do it with everything unlocked, even if there are items I would never pick up. It is just one part of the balance equation. Usefulness of items vs amount of items vs difficulty of enemies vs etcetc.
I haven't tried it with shotgun modifier yet. That may be the only thing that can make it good. IMO the DoT effect is the only time fireball is good.
P.S. Someone said they didn't have the Spear yet, but it was "probably garbage", and nobody responded to that. JUst to clarify, spear is great against tough opponents and bosses, but weak against large numbers of enemies. Each spear that hits deals a good amount of immediate damage and a small damage over time effect, which stacks with each extra hit, and really builds up after a while. It's not the best weapon (only a little above average, in fact), but it's definately my favorite.
