TIPS TO MAKE GAME EASIER
Here are some tips to help out new players struggling with the beggining difficulty. Feel free to add tips as well and I will update as people post tips or I think of more things :)

  • You can click on the birds and and tumbleweeds when in Sale Phase to get gold and items up to 3-4 times. Sometimes you lose a little gold but you make WAY more than the little you lose.

  • Make manual save every week or so. On the map screen on the very bottom right symbol next to your bag. Saving before going into a dungeon is also a good idea incase you fail the dungeon you can reload your save. (thanks Nedrial!)

  • Always make sure your tables are cleaned before starting the Sell Phase each day so customers will be more likely to buy.

  • Always polish your items you sell. You always make more gold than the polish cost as long as the items sell. Once polishing cost 15 its better to not polish anything that cost less than 40

  • Always click on customers before they get to your store as it increases the chance of them buying form your shop.

  • Use the "Call Customer" action, especially in the first half of the day if not many customers show up or if you don't think you can sell everything. I CONTANSTLY use the call customer during mid/end game as it seems they have a higher chance to purchase things and helps me sell everything consistently.

  • When you are in a dungeon you should use herbs that you find while in the dungeon to heal yourself. Just drag the herb block onto your charchter. This can help you beat the first 3 dungeons without even having to level. Also attack scrolls and attack potions work as well.

  • Equip the newest (strongest) items as soon as possible on yourself. It'll make you clear stages easier.

  • don´t sell your boots... keep them for crafting. The first recipe you get in the game is for boots that sell for 200g (thanks fungho!)

  • Don't skip the park! You get alot of stats that way. Everytime you do the park there is a chance one of your stat's EXP will be raised. If you neglect to do the park and hit level 20 you might find the final dungeons impossible to do.

Good Starting Stratedgy
I recon the best way to start is buying only 1 regular table (the large one) for the first day. Than buying 1 item table and 1 armour tables day 2. Day 3 buy a 2nd armour table and fully upgrade the item/armour tables. Once you increase size of your shop don't add new tables until you unlocked the weapons table (which should be soon after as long as you sell all ur items every day) Sell the item table to make room for weapons table Than upgrade that. Than you can either buy a 3rd armour table or wait for a bit as a better large armour table will soon come out. A couple of swaying plants seem like a good choice after that as it will make customers more likely to buy stuff as well as items they don't ussually buy. When the shelves appear buy one of each shelve item/weapon/armour.

Cooking pot from quest, Plains dungeon, and Snow Dungeon. But bandage is only 105 G and you can't get them in large qty

Bandage+ comes from bandage seed which comes from Merchant's mission quest : 1 gold pouch for 5 bandage seeds and 5 herb seeds

Another tip:
To get a good strong start, you need to sell crafted equipment as early as possible. And this is only possible by means of tumbleweed and bird clicking to get materials. It gets easier to get materials later in the game after you can buy dagger/bow display
Clicking bird, tumbleweed, customer, and dusting table can be really trying for your fingers so I suggest using autoclicker programs

If you fully upgrade it you will have 15% discounts and this buff adds up.

For example, I have two Wrenchs that are fully upgraded. For me it costs 56 Gold to craft Wool Boots when the original price is 80 Gold. (30% discount)

In Challenging mode that doesn't work, removing 2k from your budget = game over. In chill mode or free mode sure.

Added new tip:
Don't skip the park every weekend as you get alot of stats that way. Everytime you do the park there is a chance one of your stat's EXP will be raised. If you neglect to do this you might find the final dungeons impossible to do.

Is there any tips on what items you should consume for training? I personally use the Green Herbs, Bandages, Potions, etc I collect when in a dungeon, but not sure if there are better ones to use?

after levelling hundreds of times trying to get the correct stats, i am almost 100% certain no item is specific to any stat, its all completely random

Level is capped -for now- at 20. And i manage to paid of at level 8. When items cost more you get more stat XP. So best strategy would thats you try keep your level low as possible and after you pay your debt always Train with expensives stuff you can find. But keep in mind i didn´t test my self :)

i dont think the cost of an item has any effect whatsoever on levelling up....... either way, your HP gain is static and nothing will change how much you get from it

as far as stats go, i have levelled an ungodly amount of times and i have never, not once, ever seen more than +1 to one single stat, i dont think it makes a difference either way

as far as cost of an item, or item value, or rarity of the item, or level of the item, i have not found any indication at all that any of it plays a factor in levelling... i currently believe right now its 100% random, and maybe you have a 25% chance to gain an extra skill when levelling with an item

Hi! Sorry for the lack of explanation; I'll work on that after some of the other major things
Here's what I posted on the PixelShopkeeper.com site:

Consume Bonus Item: Chance to gain extra exp upon Training

If you don’t get a boost in stat point, but it says extra EXP was added, it might not have been enough for a whole stat point (esp if you used a low level item) . But this also means that it might carry over to the next level up, where you can gain an extra stat point

The higher the rarity of the item, the higher the chance of it being effective

Thats come from Dev of game few days ago. So yes your right its not cost of item but rarity

Although using rare items to level is good it is equally or more important to do the parks on Saturday/Sunday. You will get more bonus from stats from doing that and combined with using high rarity items you won't have a problem beating the final dungeons...
I use Power Muffin/ Green Herb++ and Mysterious Scroll to level but yah it does feel a bit random
