How to use Character DLC

Arcane Raise offers 5 separate DLC (booster + 4 characters) that ARE compatible with each other:

• Booster Pack
  
• Female #1 (Character) + Booster Pack = Save 14
  
• Female #2 (Character) + Booster Pack = Save 13
  
• Male #1 (Character) + Booster Pack = Save 16
  
• Male #2 (Character) + Booster Pack = Save 15

To play with the DLC Character of your choice, simply load the Savegame containing that character.

Just tested this now, working as intended. Make sure Steam is in Online mode and you're logged into Friends.

Start a new game, skip tutorial then walk across the bridge.

I wanted to buy the deluxe version which is cheapest, but i can't because when you own some stuff from it you can't just buy it again, buying everything seperate is just too expensive and with all those dlc and in game items a travesty in the first place.
Please make that possible for all your games, to still buy the deluxe version.

1. Are the booster packs actually needed for anything, or do they only make the game easier? For example, are there achievements related to the DLC characters?

2. If the booster pack is included in the character DLCs, why is it listed separately in the deluxe edition, raising its price?
