Hesitant yes, fine on sale.

Basically Super Metroid but roguelike so map is randomized along power-ups offered, to a degree. You unlock further item alterations that show up in future runs.

That being said I felt like after beating the game once that I didn't feel compelled to do it twice, yet I did to see if there was much of a difference and while every boss other than final boss was different in that run, it didn't feel significant enough to want me to play more.

To someone else this type of game may appeal more which is why I upvote it, but ultimately it doesn't quite do it for me.

What this metroid-like lacks in characters and story it more than makes up for in balanced procgen levels with unique items and upgrades. Great fun to play over multiple short sessions.

Most of the reviews already say this, but it really does feel like a rogue-lite Super Metroid. It is quite impressive how it manages to make a (usually) decently paced metroidvania, and still have it mostly procedurallly generated. There are a few rough edges that take some time to get used to, but once you learn the mechanics, the replayability is great. I always come back to this if I am looking for a familiar metroidvania experience, but don't feel like one of the games where I have the map and unlocks internalized.

It's Super Metroid, but as a roguelike, and a well-made one. Credit to the one-man dev team for making a rock-solid game in a genre I normally get bored of extremely quickly.

It's a blessing this exists tbh. It's literally roguelike Super Metroid with the movement being more refined than in Super. It somehow takes on a concept that sounds as impossible as that, and makes the best possible version of it. I fricking love this game.

a surprisingly fantastic fun rogue like metroidvania. there is a lot more content in this then I would have thought too. I would reccomend this easily!
