Is it possible to get soft locked ?
I’ve had a couple of runs where it seems like getting yourself stuck could be possible. There have been a couple of times where I came across rooms that were only accessible by shooting a wall/ceiling with a weapon like, say, a rocket launcher. On the other side was an empty room and then a shrine. Now if you used your last bit of ammo to get in, it seems like you would be unable to get out as there are no enemies from which to farm energy.

Fight naturally regenerates energy, although it does so very slowly. There are upgrades to speed this up, but even with them, Fight will still always have "ammo" for it's weapons. So far there hasn't really been a way to get soft locked. If it looks like you can't progress, you either missed an item somewhere or forgot about a weapon you have. I've forgotten about the railgun twice now, and wasted time looking for a way to shoot through walls when I had the railgun to do so all along.

Ah, gotcha. Normally I’ve found energy drops to be plentiful so I never even noticed that it regenerates on its own.

Also, locked doors stay unlocked after you open them.

It is possible to soft-lock yourself if you sequence break (even in the upcoming update, which is very good so far, btw)

It's pretty obvious when you sequence break, so it isn't an issue unless you try to make it happen. But the game isn't likely to soft-lock you under normal circumstances.
