Game not starting up

I've tried every method of starting the game. Starting through Steam sets your status to "Playing LUXOR: 5th Passage" for about 10 seconds and then you appear "Online" again. Nothing happens.

If you start the game by clicking the .exe in it's folder, an error says "The program can't start because Steam.dll is missing from your computer." The Steam.dll file is in the usual Steam directory where it always is.

Any help?

Same issue - I've tried verifying the game files but it fails to finish "updating". I've also deleted the local content a couple of times and trying to install the game with my anti-virus program disabled, no joy...

All of the other Luxor games seem to work so I'm a bit confused by this issue.

The same problem begins after upgrading from Win 8 to Win 8.1

I found out that you just have to "verify the integrity of the game cache" every so often. No permanent fix as far as I know.

If you bought this game from the groupees bundle then go to your downloads page and click the link for the PC version. Once you download it, extract the .exe file and then use it to replace the .exe that is in the steam folder. I have gotten my game to work by doing this :)

I cant understand what you said Kyle, can you explain how you managed to make this game work? Wheres is this "Link for the PC version" that you saying?

If you bought it from gruopees bundle then go to your profile on groupees websites and find the mumbo jumbo bundle. Click on it and then click the picture of the game and then click the link that says PC version to donwload it.

If you did not buy it from the gruopees bundle then go to mumbojumbos website and download the demo version and use the .exe from the demo to replace the steam .exe.

My copy won't load at all, I had a key for it from Tremor Games which was valid. What's happening?

Dowload the game from pirate bay or other site and do what Kyle! said to do, it will work.

I have never used tremor games but I would reccomend trying the .exe swap with the DEMO version downloaded from mumbojumbo's wesbite

The problem does not lie on the side of the game, the problem is the version of Windows.
I'm using 8.1, my brother uses 7.
On Windows 7 boot up without a problem.
On 8.1 I can't even run by switching exe files from the demo version and enabled compatibility with Windows 7.

I got the game to work with my method on Windows 8 and on Windows 8.1 so I am positive it works. Try updating your graphics drivers as well as these can cause some more issues. If your on an Intel basaed laptop then be sure to update those graphics drivers too.

Thank you Kyle, using the .exe from the demo for Luxor 5th Passage and Little Farm worked for me. I.m on win8.1 (compatibility mode wouldn't work for me, tried , vista and win 7 but the demo .exe worked without activating compat. mode for both gtames.
