Well, wouldn't that be cut out in the censored version?
Simple enough, thanks.
Makes me wonder why the uncensored patch isn't available for Steam users without an extra purchase. Can't be to fund the OVA as that was successfully kickstarted.
Also, it's quite a bit of extra content and is worth money in itself (not like some games, for instance, that just have some nudity that makes little difference in total development effort). If they wanted to distribute the patch for free, that would mean selling even the Steam version for full price (double what it is now). But not everyone wants the 18+ content; with this model, they'd be forced to pay the full price anyway, which is not fair. The higher price would also mean fewer people would buy it in any form, though I don't know whether they would make more or less money total.
Yeah, I actually figured that any trace of those scenes or things leading up to them would have been removed in the first place.
I guess you could say that I'm.. glad that the games aren't castrated down to outright PG +6.
Gladly, this makes a lot of sense. It's even sort of fair for the less.. "hentai interested" crowd. I agree on that.
As long as it turns out with the same price for the full package I ain't see no harm. Bit petty to me personally but I guess rules are rules.
Especially since I can just buy it without any sort of problem. ;) Would've been BS if steam activly tried to lynch you in any way for patching said games. Thank god patch creators exist and devs don't just go "eh" over it.
I'm sure most Japanese don't either. But they can't publish in Japan without it. Outside, no problem, but they'd have to make damn sure they don't inadvertently release such a version domestically, so don't expect that much effort.
Restoring it automatically is pretty unlikely to happen. There is no magic "enhance" like in the movies. At least not something that will give results as good as the original art.
This is not to say that selling uncensored versions outside Japan doesn't happen. It's not that uncommon, really. JAST USA is famous for publishing such. It's just, not all artists, devs, etc., are willing to go along with it for whatever reasons.
It serves to make Crunchyroll appear like a pimp. "Hey, you need to be on the list before we let you in to see the naughty bits." I forget which series it was, but I remember one anime that had sexual content as a central theme not require an account until the third episode released. Then the aforementioned content blocked without account was slid into place.
tl;dr Purtain values in electronic media can and do disappear when enough money is thrown at them.
