STAR WARS™ Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy™

Widescreen is not working
I tried everything I could find on the internet. Most advice was about changing r_customwidth, r_customheight, and r_mode to -1. I put this in the console, changed the game data to match this, created an entirely new text folder with this, and even went to Windows Basic. Nothing worked. What do I need to do?

Hi ! Try to put the same commands but add this one in the end : "/vid_restart" if it´s not working make sure you didn't make a mistake by swaping r_custom values (using 1920 instead of 1080 for example) and make sure you write the "r_mode" command first !

Are you talking about multiplayer? If so, you have to join the match in a resolution the game supports AND THEN use the console commands. The vid_restart thing in Kogite's comment is also vital.

I've tried this one as well.

I'm going for single player.

Let me get an idea of what exactly you're doing. The way I did this is these console commands in the following order, all written exactly as displayed:

r_customwidth 1920
r_customheight 1080
r_mode -1
vid_restart

Does all this perfectly match what you're doing?

Went into the game again, tried this again, and it still didn't work.

In that case, I can't help you. Sorry.

Look here[pcgamingwiki.com] and follow the alternative solution. That works for me when just using console doesn't.

I already created that folder previously. However, that was the first time I saw changing the FOV in the console as a solution. I tried putting in cg_fov 90 in the console, and it didn't recognize cg_fov as a command. Could this be the source of the problem?

cg_fov just changes the field of view and is totally independent from the resolution, however that shows that maybe something isn't exactly working properly. Are you running Steam and the game as administrator? That could be the simple fix.
