STAR WARS™ Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy™

STAR WARS™ Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy™

Worth buying for singleplayer?
During the past half year I've played KOTOR 1 and 2 (never played them before). They were between good and okay, definitely worth a playthrough for the discounted price I bought them for. This game is on a discount too so I consider buying it.

I plan to play the singleplayer and not sure if ever will play the multiplayer so keeping that in mind my question is:

How do they compare to the fun / quality / value-price ratio of the KOTOR games?

Does this game provide as much fun gameplay as (either of one) those?

Or in short: Does it worth buying this game for the SP only?

Yes it is cheap (KOTOR games were about the same price though) and if it has an issue I can refund it so no issue there.

My question was regarding the game itself not technical issues (both KOTORs worked fine and I run many old games using DOSBox so I don't expect a technical issue tbh) so my question was more about how fun the SP is and whether the story, missions and atmosphere worth it if you compare to the KOTOR games.

I compare it to them because I recently played them so I can properly assess the probable value of this game if it is compared to the KOTOR games.

Actually I played the original Jedi Knight and Mysteries of the Sith expansion too but long ago (I still remember them quite well though) so a comparison to those is also useful.

Its harder than KOTOR. Takes actual skill to play it and win not just point and click etc, The story is as extreme as the KOTOR games. Its more like one man army stuff some stealth that kotor doesn't have. You don't need dosbox for this game.

In terms of gameplay Do not compare KOTOR to JK2/JKA. KOTOR is an RPG. and JK2/JKA is more of a fps/tps lightsaber game.

Hey buddy, it's not an RPG at all. It's a third-person lightsaber game, or an FPS if you really want to shoot things. Very entertaining. Get it cheap and have a good time swinging sabers. :)

KOTOR/2 although great games with great stories, were so clunky and combat wise kind of boring.

Jedi Knight 2, and Jedi Academy with g_realisticsabercombat enabled along with dismemberment truly make you feel like a badass jedi, also combat with sith is very skill based and requires you to be quick with your force powers and force jumps to avoid having your head chopped clean off by a lucky saber throw.
