"Two rejected concepts for future games in the series include Jedi Knight III: Brink of Darkness and Jedi Master. Jedi Master was one of the many video game concepts LucasArts considered for what would later become Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. It was to be a survival horror game—a much darker, more violent, and more mature continuation of the Jedi Knight series set during the Great Jedi Purge immediately following Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith. The concept was originally put out to potential consumers to test the demand for both another Jedi Knight game and a more mature Star Wars game, but both the consumers and the developers felt the concept was too gratuitous and derivative, and so it was thrown out." The force unleased is for the new generation of gamer/star wars fans who is unable to play video games without a arrow telling the player "Go Here".
You don't know how many times I've heard someone say they are lost and had to recommend a video walkthrough to get them through some level in the jedi knight series. I really think they'll never be another game quite like this.
Too many "Gamers" these days that just want to sit on their couch and play something that is linear and mindless fun versus Secret finders, open world explorers.
I didn't know you could do that!!! :0
wot.
Re-read my post. I never said a skilled based MMO. Where do I say that? I literally said like Jedi Academy.
No, I want a combat system like Academy with the same platform elements from the Jedi Knight series. I don't want a KOTOR or SWTOR clone, I said a combat system that gives players MORE control, but in a open world. Imagine Star Wars Galaxies GTA style. Play as a Jedi, a smuggler, a soldier, but in a free open world with other players. The Master and Apprentice system would allow players to create their OWN Jedi order, without one being forced into the game.
I don't like the combat system in KOTOR and SWTOR, it was too linear and I didn't have much control in combat, I got bored with it because I didn't feel like a real Jedi. I wanted the platform elements from the movies and the grand adventure.
Jedi Knight is my favorite, but the game engine is too limited and too old, it is now outdated and small. On top of this, it isn't a real open world game, you have to join servers so it is very limited with what you can do. We need both series combined together to make something new.
I haven't played them, but I've heard some pretty bad things about them. D=
But Battlefield 4 is a good game. :c
