How do I advance in standard Force Powers?
Like Push, pull, Jump and so on?

Basic powers are upgraded after the fixed story mission that you play after 4/5 minor missions you get to choose. That happens twice for the 2nd and 3rd Force levels respectively

Core abilities are not governed by player choice. Those are automatically upgraded by the game as you level up.

As others have stated, the standard force powers advance completely independently from you picking and choosing your light/dark abilities to upgrade. These abilities will naturally develop as you advance from one set of missions to the next (and then again with the third set).
