Seriously though, since Jedi apparently can't walk without rhythm, you need to stay off the sand as much as possible. Use the rocks and wreckage to keep yourself safe as you make your way around the map to collect the parts you need.
There are also Thermal Detonators scattered about the map. You can use these in contact-explosion mode (secondary fire) to distract the sandworms and lure them away from the parts that are resting on the sand, which buys you more time. If you have to touch the sand, use Force Speed and Force Jump to keep contact to a minimum. Force Sense will highlight parts you need in green, and occasionally reveal sandworms beneath the sand in red, but don't count on the latter - the wormsign they leave on the surface as they dig is a much better indicator.
What few people know is that you can actually kill the sandworms. It's difficult though.
To do this, you need to toss a Thermal Detonator in Timed Explosion mode (primary fire) near, but not onto a sandworm, and make sure it rolls slowly enough that a worm can chase down and eat it. Two eaten Thermal Detonators will kill a worm. You know when it's dead because it'll rise up from the sand, then flop on its side before sinking again. The timing is pretty tight - if the detonator explodes before the worm can get it into their mouth, it won't do any damage, which is why you want to make sure it's rolling very slowly. Try to toss it lightly, onto level ground, or into the valley between dunes so that it can't roll very far. The worms will chase rolling detonators, so even if you don't damage or kill one, you'll probably lure it away at least.
Killing a Sandworm is temporary. Once you return a ship part, all of the sandworms will respawn if they've been killed. Don't get cocky, and don't get impatient - you're not under any sort of time limit, so take the time to move carefully around the map. If you've got to grab a part that's on the sand, plan your escape route first, and remember that some of the rocks will sink when you jump on them.
