Why is the blaster bolt blocking system so bad?

I think it's really noticable when you use single sabers. The animation of you putting your lightsaber down after a bolt block is way too slow, and that means that several consectutive shots from just one guy can actually land on you, even if you have level 3 lightsaber defense. I like Jedi Outcast's deflection system better. Why did they make the blaster bolt blocking system complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in Academy?

I shouldn't have to worry so much about approaching some sand person with a sniper rifle on Jedi Master difficulty because my character is too ♥♥♥♥ing slow to block blaster shots from one guy LOL! Does anyone here prefer Outcast's blaster bolt blocking system? Why is Academy's saber defense this way?

Sorry, I didn't explain myself clearly enough.

What I wanted to say is:
There's actually no way of defending from a Tusken sniper rifle. You can dodge it, but that's pretty much it.
Tusken raiders don't use energy weapons (such as E-11, Bowcaster, Imperial Heavy repeater). They use weapons which fire bullets (or slugs).

That's why you cannot defend yourself from their rifles using a lightsaber. :D


Also, other weapons - Golan Arms Flechette Weapon, Tenloss Disruptor Rifle, Stouker Concussion Rifle
don't use the traditional blaster ammo.

Notice how you will be able to block shots from the Flechette Weapon, but won't be able to deflect them back at your enemies.
Also, you cannot block or deflect shots from Disruptor and Concussion rifles with your lightsaber.
However, you can use Force Push to "deflect" Concussion rifle's blasts.


One last thing, your combat style affects your blocking effectiveness.
Red - sucks for blocking, don't ever use it :D
Blue - the best defensive stance, you'll notice it has the shortest "recovery after blocking a shot" animation

?! What? You CAN defend against those tusken raiders with those rifles. You simply block the shot though and you can't deflect it. That's all. You can defend against it. Just stand there and let them shoot at you. Your character will move to block it. lol

Every time I play singleplayer I never manage to block those shots. I even specifically remember that those Tusken rifle shots can never be blocked.

I may be wrong, or saber defence 1 screwed me over every single time... xD

I don't know anymore... I'm telling you, I was 110% sure that it's impossible to defend against those shots.

I got down with that mission yesterday. If you stand there you CAN block hit. There's no way that's not true.
