How's the game selling?
Would like to know if it's selling decently. Would you call it a success so far?

Seems to be reviewing well so far, thats always a good sign. Whether or not we can boost this game up to make the front page or not is going to be a different matter.. I have no idea how many positive reviews/sales it needs to make before steam's auto-curation system notices.

In my opinion? So far, not really doing all that well.
Oh well, It's okay though, I will be fine and continue to make games.

It has still a way to go before breaking the 1k barrier and it's unfortunate that it was released along side two major titles.

Yeah I remember that you delayed the game exactly because you didn't wanna compete with any big titles, Valve really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ you over didn't they? but yeah, why not ask siivagunner to be a shill for you?

Because he hates Luna Base. I already told him to go ♥♥♥♥ himself. : ^ )

Well it wasn't CRAPPY, but I didn't like that they dumbed down certain gameplay elements when compared to the beta. It's just an opinion.

Saw the developer respond and bought the game. I don't even buy games. Good luck to you, man. Before/after the sequel were ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ INCREDIBLE.

I'm going to have to check out these Before/after sequel games. I hadn't even heard of them before people started mentioning them here.

To be honest, I think that's because you are AMAZING game developer and a horrible marketer.
I couldn't find any news about this game, except for a single piece of news on Sonic Retro (AFTER release, what isn't good for building hype). It wouldn't be much better without those big titles.

You could abuse hype for Sonic Mania and use this game as an apetizer for that. You could also abuse hype for Freedom Planet 2, because this game is quite similar in terms of gameplay. You could even abuse DLC for Shovel Knight (retro games in focus) and lack of Megaman X games these days.
You could spam review copies to news sites and YouTube reviewers (especially popular for reviews of Sonic). You could spam some copies to let's players.
At least it isn't too late to spam free copies, but you lost your chance for initial hype, which you could build for years.

I knew about this game only because I love your Sonic fangames. Majority of people don't know about them. You made a game that's competing for my number 1 spot of the best games I have ever played, but the release was so quiet I almost didn't notice. And I think you screwed up your kickstarter in a similar way. I would contribute if I knew about it and I found out about it was too late, I'm sure more people would if they knew about it.

It's time to focus on marketing of Spark. You can still save yourself from this mess. In the meanwhile, don't repeat your mistakes for your next game and don't ignore marketing.

Too be fair it is difficult to advertise an indie game because your not some big company that can afford to like Nintendo.

Sorry to hear. Still, the review have been really positive so far and rightfully so, in the long term it will definitively help! Hopefully it just takes some more review exposure outside from steam for your game to gets way more sells! :)

I think the game has a lot of speedrunning potential... could just be a bit of a slow burner .. as more people get interested it might snowball into something great.

I can't wait to see speedruns of Spark Challenge without Whishes Mode.

Agreed!

Actually I want a mode where the game constantly changes your powers at random every minute. That would be really cool and interesting.
