New Deck: Dragonmaid!
The Rainbow Overdrive Speed Duel Main BOX introduced Dragonmaids to Yu-Gi-Oh! DUEL LINKS! Along with new cards for the Dragonmaid theme, the Maid’s Downtime Archive Skill was introduced, helping this brand-new theme compete in PvP Dueling! Here’s a short overview of how the “Dragonmaid” Deck works!

There are three different categories of “Dragonmaid” monsters that have been introduced into Yu-Gi-Oh! DUEL LINKS. First, there are the low-Level Effect Monsters. Each of them has a specific effect that activates if it’s Summoned. In addition to that effect, each of these Level 4 or lower monsters can also return to the hand at the start of the Battle Phase in order to Special Summon a high-Level “Dragonmaid” monster from your hand or Graveyard.

The “Dragonmaid” monsters that they can Special Summon are Level 7 or Level 8 monsters, which make up the second category of “Dragonmaid” monsters introduced into Yu-Gi-Oh! DUEL LINKS. Each of them can’t be destroyed by card effects while you control a Fusion Monster, and has a unique effect that you can activate by discarding it from the hand. Plus, each of them has an effect that lets you return it to your hand at the end of the Battle Phase to Special Summon one of the low-Level “Dragonmaid” Effect Monsters from your hand in its place. The Level 7 and Level 8 “Dragonmaid” monsters all have much higher Attack Points than the low-Level “Dragonmaid” monsters. That makes swapping your low-Level “Dragonmaids” for “Dragonmaids” with higher Levels at the start of the Battle Phase a powerful move.

The last category of “Dragonmaid” monsters in Yu-Gi-Oh! DUEL LINKS is the “Dragonmaid” Fusion Monsters! There are currently two of them, and they’re the ace monsters of the “Dragonmaid” Deck. Dragonmaid Sheou, which is available from a Special Set, is a Level 10 Dragon with 3500 ATK that can be Fusion Summoned by using any “Dragonmaid” monster and any Level 5 or higher Dragon as Fusion Materials. It has two incredible effects. The first effect lets you Special Summon a Level 9 or lower “Dragonmaid” monster from your hand or Graveyard during each Standby Phase. The second effect is a Quick Effect that lets you negate the activation of any card or effect, destroy that card, and then return Dragonmaid Sheou to your Extra Deck and Special Summon House Dragonmaid from your Extra Deck.

House Dragonmaid is the second “Dragonmaid” Fusion Monster. It’s a Level 9 Dragon with 3000 ATK that you can Fusion Summon by combining 1 Dragonmaid monster with any Dragon. Once per turn during the Standby Phase, its effect lets you target another “Dragonmaid” monster you control and then Special Summon a Dragonmaid monster from your hand or Graveyard in Defense Position whose Level is 1 higher or 1 lower than the Level of the targeted monster. It also has an effect that lets you target a monster your opponent controls and destroy it whenever another face-up Dragon monster you control returns to the hand. Since all of the “Dragonmaid” Effect Monsters are Dragons and can return to the hand during the Battle Phase, it’s easy to use this effect and wipe out your opponent’s monsters.

The “Dragonmaids” also have a bunch of Spells and Traps that help to support the theme. Dragonmaid Changeover is an in-theme Fusion Spell Card that can return from the Graveyard, while Dragonmaid Hospitality is a Normal Spell Card that can help you set up your moves with the Deck. Dragonmaid Welcome and Dragonmaid Send-Off are Spell Cards that give “Dragonmaid” Decks access to a variety of other effects.

Dragonmaid Tidying is a Trap Card that lets you return a Dragon on your field and a card your opponent controls to the hand. Its additional effect lets you banish it from the Graveyard to Special Summon a “Dragonmaid” monster from your hand or Graveyard in Defense Position, and return that monster to your hand in the End Phase. Finally, Dragonmaid Downtime is a Continuous Trap Card with two effects. You can activate one of those effects each turn. The first effect lets you return a “Dragonmaid” monster you control to the hand, and then add a “Dragonmaid” card from your Deck to your hand, other than Dragonmaid Downtime. The second effect lets you return a “Dragonmaid” monster you control to the hand to return a Spell or Trap Card on your opponent’s field to the hand.

Dragonmaid Downtime works with the new Maid’s Downtime Archive Skill! This Skill lets you send a Dragon from your hand to the Graveyard to add a “Dragonmaid” monster from your Deck to your hand once per Duel. In addition, if only your opponent controls a card, it lets you Set a Dragonmaid Downtime from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard once per Duel. You can activate Dragonmaid Downtime during the same turn you Set it with the Skill, allowing you to immediately grab the “Dragonmaid” cards you need from your Deck or quickly get rid of a card in your opponent’s back row.

The Rainbow Overdrive Speed Duel Main BOX, the Special Set featuring Dragonmaid Sheou, and the new Maid’s Downtime Archive Skill gave “Dragonmaid” Duelists everything they needed to compete in PvP Duels immediately upon the theme’s release! You can pick up the new “Dragonmaid” cards and Archive Skill to start Dueling with “Dragonmaids” today!
