Popular Decks in the Kaiba Corporation Cup!
The latest Kaiba Corporation (KC) Cup just ended, and Duelists used lots of different Decks as they fought their way to the top! Take a look at some of the most popular Decks and strategies that Duelists relied on to take them to the 2nd Stage of the KC Cup and beyond!

Phantom Knights and Mekk-Knight Decks were two of the most popular choices in the KC Cup. Both are powerful PvP Decks.

Phantom Knights Decks typically rely on Level 3 “The Phantom Knights” monsters and their Special Summoning capabilities to quickly Xyz Summon The Phantom Knights of Break Sword to the field. Using Yuto’s Treason Phantom Skilll, Duelists can choose to Xyz Summon Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon instead, and quickly upgrade it to Dark Requiem Xyz Dragon using The Phantom Knights’ Rank-Up-Magic Launch. Phantom Knights Decks are adept at Xyz Summoning, and use the power of Xyz Monsters to overwhelm opponents. Thanks to the many effects of Phantom Knights cards that can be used while they’re in the Graveyard, the Deck also has lots of resiliency.

Mekk-Knight Decks are typically packed with powerful Effect Monsters that can easily be Special Summoned as long as two cards on the field are in the same column. They carry a variety of effects that include searching the Deck for cards to add to your hand, destroying cards, and moving a card to a different column. The Limited 1 World Legacy’s Secret Continuous Trap Card has the power to stop opponents’ monster effects, which shuts down a lot of plays your opponent may try to make. In addition, Mekk-Knight Decks are usually able to Summon Xyz Monsters and Link Monsters, giving them added power.

Other popular choices for the KC Cup at the highest levels of competition included HERO and Salamangreat Decks. These two fan-favorite strategies rely on different types of monsters, but both of them use the monsters in their theme to achieve victory. HERO Decks aim to take quick victories by Fusion Summoning powerful monsters like Elemental HERO Sunrise, while Salamangreat Decks Summon their most powerful monsters by conducting several Link Summons in succession.

Resonator Decks, boosted in power by the recent release of the Pulse of the Quasars Mini BOX, was a popular choice among fans of Synchro Summoning. The addition of Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend, Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend, and Red Reign to DUEL LINKS in the newest Mini BOX has powered up Jack Atlas’s signature strategy. Jack’s Roaring Soul Skill makes it a breeze to Summon “Red Dragon Archfiend” boss monsters in Decks built around the Resonators, and the raw power of those Synchro Monsters will usually end a Duel in your favor.

D/D/D Decks, often using Declan Akaba’s Command of the Doom King Skill, was a top Pendulum-based strategy in the most recent KC Cup. D/D/D Decks are adept at accessing the monsters they need by using the effects of cards that search through the Deck, and they can quickly swarm the field thanks to the Pendulum Summoning mechanic. Although most of the monsters in the Main Deck of a D/D/D Deck are usually Pendulum Monsters, D/D/D Duelists often have access to lots of different types of monsters from the Extra Deck, including Fusion and Xyz Monsters. The range of plays that D/D/D Decks can make has allowed them to remain a top competitive Deck.

The PvP Dueling field is wide open! There are lots of powerful Decks that are able to succeed at the highest levels of competition with a skilled Duelist piloting them. These include Decks that rely on Fusion Monsters, Synchro Monsters, Xyz Monsters, and Pendulum Monsters! In addition to the strategies mentioned above, there are many more that are also powerful enough to achieve success in competitive Dueling. Use a Deck that suits your style and see how far you can take it in the PvP Arena!
