Deck Updates: Darkness Gimmick Main BOX!

The Darkness Gimmick Main BOX has lots of powerful tech cards and cards to support the Gimmick Puppet theme, but some of the strongest cards in the latest Main BOX are the ones that support existing Decks! Check out some of the cards in the Darkness Gimmick Main BOX that give specific Decks a big boost!

Inzektors
Inzektor Decks get a big boost thanks to the new UR Inzektor Dragonfly! Once per turn, you can equip an “Inzektor” monster from your hand or Graveyard to your Dragonfly with its effect. If an Equip Card is sent to your Graveyard while equipped to your Dragonfly, you can Special Summon an “Inzektor” monster from your Deck, except for another Dragonfly. These effects help Inzektor Decks run more smoothly than ever before! Equip your Inzektor Dragonfly with Inzektor Hornet and then use your Hornet’s effect to send your Hornet to the Graveyard and destroy a card on the field. Dragonfly’s effect will activate next, allowing you to Special Summon another Inzektor, such as Inzektor Centipede, from your Deck. You can then use the newly Summoned Inzektor’s effect to equip that monster with your Hornet.

Thanks to Inzektor Dragonfly, Inzektor Decks now function similarly to the way they did in their prime in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME. This makes them a strong contender in PvP Dueling. In addition to Inzektor Dragonfly, the Darkness Gimmick Main BOX brought the Rank 6 Inzektor Exa-Beetle and Rank 5 Inzektor Exa-Stag to Duel Links. These are also welcome additions to Inzektor Decks, since many Inzektor monsters, including Dragonfly, increase the Levels of the monsters to which they’re equipped, facilitating Xyz Summons.

Photons
Photon Decks get a boost thanks to the release of Photon Orbital! You can equip this Level 4 Machine-Type monster from your hand or field to a “Photon” or “Galaxy” monster you control to increase the equipped monster’s ATK by 500 and prevent that monster from being destroyed by battle. More impressively, you can send Photon Orbital to the Graveyard while it’s equipped to a monster to add another “Photon” or “Galaxy” monster from your Deck to your hand. This effect helps to make Photon Decks more consistent by smoothing over their draws with the monsters they need. Photon Orbital is a strong addition to the already-competitive Photon Deck. The Darkness Gimmick Main BOX also contains a re-release of Starliege Paladynamo – a key card for Photon Decks and other LIGHT Decks that was originally available in Selection BOX Vol. 04.

Vampires
Vampire Decks have been out of the spotlight for a while, but new cards in the Darkness Gimmick Main BOX will give them new life! The Vampire Awakening Trap Card has a simple effect that Special Summons a “Vampire” monster from your Deck and destroys it during the End Phase. This card can be used to Special Summon monsters like the Level 5 Shadow Vampire or Level 5 Vampire Duke, and help to Xyz Summon the Rank 5 Crimson Knight Vampire Bram. All three of these new Vampires are in the Darkness Gimmick Main BOX. This latest Main BOX also contains the new Vampire Sorcerer and Vampire Red Baron. Although the Vampire Awakening Trap Card is the big hitter for Vampire Decks from the Darkness Gimmick Main BOX, the addition of all of these new Vampire monsters to Duel Links gives Duelists new ways to play Vampire Decks and reinvigorates the old theme.
