Latest Forbidden/Limited List Update and Skill Rebalancing!
The latest Forbidden/Limited List update took effect this week, and the new Skill Rebalancing will take effect next week. Combined, these adjustments will change the landscape of PvP Dueling. Check out how two of the most competitive Decks are affected by these adjustments!

Master of Destiny Decks
Decks built around Desperado Barrel Dragon and Sartorius’s Master of Destiny Skill have been a dominant Deck in Duel Links for quite some time. These Decks rely on cards that flip coins to use their effects, using the Master of Destiny Skill to guarantee flipping “Heads” for the first three flips. These Decks are now being weakened by both the Forbidden/Limited List update and by the Skill Rebalancing.

With the new Forbidden/Limited List update, Ms. Judge and Head Judging join Cup of Ace on the Limited 2 List, allowing Duelists to use only a total of 2 copies of the three cards. This makes it tougher to use the Master of Destiny Skill, which requires a Duelist to have 7 different coin-flipping cards in his or her Deck in order to use the Skill, and forces Duelists to cut back on some of the most powerful cards in the Deck.

The Skill adjustment to Master of Destiny is also a big setback to the Deck. Although the Skill works the same way as it did before by guaranteeing your first three coin-flips in a Duel are “Heads”, it now forces you to skip your first Normal Draw of the Duel. Effectively, Duelists will need to give up a card in exchange for those guaranteed “Heads” with the Master of Destiny Skill.

Noble Knight Decks
Although the Noble Knights Deck is untouched by the Forbidden/Limited List update, the change to the Balance Skill will drastically change the way the Deck functions. Noble Knight Decks typically used the Balance Skill to consistently Summon Noble Knight Medraut on the first turn, equip it with a “Noble Arms” Spell Card, Special Summon Noble Knight Borz with Medraut’s effect, and perform a Rank 5 Xyz Summon as early as possible. Changes to the Balance Skill allow the Skill to work the same way by increasing the consistency of drawing specific hands at the start of a Duel, but add a huge drawback. With the new update, you cannot Special Summon or activate monster effects until the end of the Main Phase of your first turn. This makes it impossible to use Medraut’s effect on the first turn after using the Balance Skill, which completely cuts off the powerful start that Noble Knight Decks were used to performing.

In addition to the changes mentioned above, a few other changes were also made to the Forbidden/Limited List and Character Skills. Bamboo Scrap is being added to the Limited 1 List. In addition, Amazoness Onslaught has been changed to Limited 3 status, greatly strengthening Amazoness Decks, while Rose Lover has been removed from the Forbidden/Limited List entirely, strengthening Plant Decks like Sylvans. A few changes are also weakening Skills like What Grows in the Graveyard and See You Later!, while strengthening Skills like Cubic Seeds, Iron Call, and Transcendent Crystals. Skills that made Decks more consistent (Restart, Spell Specialist, Trap Layer, My Monster Cards, and Heavy Starter) are also being weakened.

What are your favorite changes made by the new Forbidden/Limited List update and Skill Rebalancing?

In the news, the Cubic Seeds skill says that it can have up to 6 non-cubic spell/trap cards, but when I read the text when selecting a skill for the deck, it doesn't mention this and only says that all of the cards need to be cubic. Was the text not updated?
