NEW Forbidden & Limited List Update!

A new Yu-Gi-Oh! DUEL LINKS Forbidden & Limited List will take effect on March 8th! Check out the big changes that are on the way to DUEL LINKS Speed Duels!

Limited 1

Five cards will be added to the Limited 1 List. Two of those cards – Tachyon Transmigration and Coach King Giantrainer – are commonly used together in Decks built around Number 107: Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon and the Tachyon Dragon Domination Skill. The addition of these two cards to the Limited 1 List will force players to remove one of these cards from their Deck in order to use the other one, while precluding those Duelists from using any other Limited 1 cards, including Divine Dragon Knight Felgrand.

Shiranui Spiritmaster is also getting added to the Limited 1 List, weakening “Shiranui” Decks by reducing the number of copies of Spiritmaster that they can use. In addition, this change makes it so that Duelists using Shiranui Spiritmaster can’t use any other Limited 1 cards, including Enemy Controller, thereby weakening the overall power of Shiranui Decks.

Finally, Shien’s Spy and Vengeful Servant are getting added to the Limited 1 List. Used in conjunction with one another, these two cards can wipe out many of an opponent’s Life Points before an opponent even takes a turn. The addition of both of these cards to the Limited 1 List prevents them from being used together.

Limited 2

Only 1 card is getting added to the Limited 2 List in the new update, and it’s D/D Savant Thomas. D/D Savant Thomas was previously on the Limited 1 List, and the bump to Limited 2 status means that you are able to use an additional copy of it in your “D/D” Deck. It also means that you can include a Limited 1 card like Enemy Controller in your “D/D” Deck. Overall, this change makes “D/D” Decks stronger than they previously were.

Limited 3

“Tachyon” and “Shiranui” Decks – two of the most powerful Decks in PvP Dueling – were both weakened by changes made to the Limited 1 List. But in addition to those hits, changes made to the Limited 3 List weaken these top competitive Decks even more! Shiranui Solitaire and Galactic Spiral Dragon will both be added to the Limited 3 List. This means that Shiranui Decks using 3 copies of Shiranui Solitaire, and Tachyon Decks using 3 copies of Galactic Spiral Dragon, both completely lose access to other powerful Limited 3 cards like Crackdown and Ice Dragon’s Prison.

Unlimited

Although several cards will be added to the Forbidden & Limited List on March 8th, others will be removed! Evilswarm Ophion, Condemned Witch, Kozmotown, Mekk-Knight Blue Sky, and Lady Debug – each of which was on the Limited 1, Limited 2, or Limited 3 List – are all becoming Unlimited. These cards will no longer restrict your ability to use other cards that are on the Forbidden & Limited List in your Deck. These changes will boost the power of Evilswarm, Fairy, Kozmo, Mekk-Knight, and Cyberse Decks. In addition, with Condemned Witch no longer on the Limited 3 List, it can now be used as a tech choice to help you get “Forbidden” Spells like Forbidden Droplet from your Deck, without conflicting with other Limited 3 tech choices like Ice Dragon’s Prison.

Two of the most powerful Decks in Yu-Gi-Oh! DUEL LINKS will be weakened by the upcoming changes on March 8th, while many other Decks, including “Kozmo”, “Evilswarm”, and “Mekk-Knight” Decks, may be able to reach new competitive heights with limitations eased on some of their most powerful cards. Be sure to adjust your Decks so that you’re ready to Duel when the new DUEL LINKS Forbidden & Limited List takes effect!
