Invoked cocytus against Jinzo

at the end of the duel i attacked my invoked cocytus against Jinzo. Cocytus have 2900 in defense while Jinzo have 2400 attack and as far im aware his effect only works on those trap card or im just being an idiot here?

I'm not really sure what you're asking....

If you're asking why Cocytus didn't destroy Jinzo, it's because unlike Super Sumo Slammers...I mean, Superheavy Samurai, despite the fact that Cocytus can attack while in defense position, it still uses it's own attack value for damage calculation which is 1800, so you actually had less attack than Jinzo.

Cocytus has 1800 ATK, Jinzo has 2400 ATK

Cocytus uses it's ATK instead of it's DEF, its only Superheavy Samurai that use their DEF as ATK

Also it's Sumo Slammer Samurai not Super Sumo Slammers

I recall Ben calling it Super Sumo Slammer on more than one occasion, probably referring to a specific game instead of the serie, who knows, it's a long time since I watched it.

The product itself was called Sumo Slammers, it was probably the 1 videogame episode that they called it Super Sumo Slammers

There is also a short cartoon and a game called Super Duper Sumos... I don't recommend you find out what it is

we seems to be a little off the subject, cocytus may have 1900atk but since it can attack in defense position then the defense vallue of 2900DEF are what was supposed to happen as it clearly says

''Cannot be destroyed by your opponent's card effects. your opponent cannot target this card with card effect. This card can attack while in face-up defense position, if it does, apply it's ATK for damage calculation''

as i understand it that the game system would take the DEF:2900 value as an attack value because the card is able to attack in defense position.

Look, no-one minds you misunderstood a card, even Blood Blossom misunderstands cards and it's her job not to misunderstand cards.

The problem comes with the one you misunderstood, it specifically tells to use its ATK for damage calculation. Let's say that can't be understood easily (as if), the only way to still not understand it is to not only never use the card till then, being the first attack you ever done with that card, but also being the very first time you see the card played.

Just seeing the card once attack is enough to know its using it ATK value and not its defense.

So what you accomplished is quite the feat.

You also ignored the very first two replies to the thread, me and the guy for whom not even Skyrim's mammoths have enough fur to satisfy. So yea...
