The Monarchs Stormforth is a Quick-Play Spell Card that lets you Tribute an opponent’s monster instead of your own for a Tribute Summon once during the turn you activate The Monarchs Stormforth. Tributing an opponent’s monster is one of the most effective ways to remove an opponent’s monster from the field. Many monsters have effects that activate if they’re destroyed, or protection from effects that would destroy them. Tributing an opponent’s monster using The Monarchs Stormforth lets you circumvent any such protection and avoid triggering any effects that would activate when an opponent’s monster is destroyed.

In addition, The Monarchs Stormforth affects the player activating it, allowing that player to Tribute an opponent’s monster, instead of affecting the opponent’s monster. That means Spell Cards like Forbidden Lance, which protect a monster from the effects of Spells, won’t protect a monster from being Tributed after The Monarchs Stormforth resolves. In addition, monsters that can’t be targeted are still vulnerable to being Tributed after The Monarchs Stormforth is activated, since The Monarchs Stormforth doesn’t target any monsters.

Getting rid of an opponent’s strongest monster by Tributing it using the effect of The Monarchs Stormforth is only part of what makes it so powerful. The Monarchs Stormforth doesn’t just get an opponent’s monster off of the field – it also lets you Summon a powerful monster of your own!

Lots of Tribute Monsters have powerful effects, and their drawback is the requirement of Tributing a monster in order to Summon them. The Monarchs Stormforth turns that drawback into a benefit, and lets you bring forth your most powerful Tribute Monster! The Monarch monsters, for example, have high stats and awesome effects that activate as soon as they are Tribute Summoned. Raiza the Storm Monarch, for instance, lets you target a card on the field and put it on the top of the Deck if it’s Tribute Summoned.

Although The Monarchs Stormforth will work in any Deck that Tribute Summons monster, it fits most easily into Monarch Decks. That’s because Monarch Decks typically use lot of high-Level monsters that can be Tribute Summoned after activating The Monarchs Stormforth. In addition, Monarch Decks are effectively able to use the Tenacity of the Monarchs Spell Card, which can add a “Monarch” Spell or Trap Card from your Deck to your hand, including The Monarchs Stormforth.
