I guess it stings way more when there aren't even fusion cards yet.
Maximum monsters don't get introduced until about Episode 20, two-thirds into the second story arc. I expect we'll be getting them with Neiru around Spring/Summer.
Following it up with the literally dead spells/traps we have now.
If it did appear right away the lack of counters will be the main problem here.
Well, that's something to think about too. 99% of decks on ladder aren't even running any S/T cards because they're almost all terrible. The only remotely usable trap is a version of a card that pretty much every deck in paper has a better version of. Though the actual reason is that Maximums didn't debut until the second arc, so I don't know why anyone would expect them to be implemented on Day 1, especially absent Neiru being playable.
I have watched sevens and even go rush untill the most recent episode.
It's that, since it's the new summon method of the world, i expected it to be there, like synchros, xyz, Pendulum and link.
Right now rush are fun but maximum really expands on them and makes duels more extreme.
My Guess is that they will be introduced with yggdragon.
