but for actual dueling duel links has characters which makes every duel feel more epic (and helps me want to use different decks that actually fit that character.)
I dont really care for Master Duel. Find it boring.
I just recently downloaded Cross Duel. I like the concept. I think its great when they give new ways to play Duel Monsters. Its why The Sacred Cards is one of my favorite YuGiOh games. Because its different. I always loved when i had the opportunity to play 2v2 in Duel Links.
Duel links is a little bit more balanced and a bit more simplified version of master duel, and duels take way less time so personally, Duel links is a better fit for me in that respect. I will be honest, at this point, im kind of waiting for new content/cards/events and so am just passively doing dailies and getting some xp on characters at the moment kinda like master duel.
Cross duel is an interesting new take, reminds me of that duelist of the roses game back in the day. A good way to switch things up if you still want to play a yugioh IP game thats different. I think it will really get better with more content, the card options are pretty bare right now but it did just come out. It also seems like a mostly PVE game, with the ranked pvp feeling like a side-dish to the tags and raids.
@catdog Same here as well I only get on master duel now to knock out dailys and get off, and Cross Duels gives me that nostalgic feel with better graphics. So for me Duel Links 1st, and so far Cross Duel over Master Duel.
Duel Links has fewer cards, takes out most of the op cards, limits number of cards on the field so most of the meta decks can't swarm 5 monsters with 5000 attack so easily, overall i think its the most balanced game because players of all generations can play on somewhat equal terms though, you obviously can't get around the sheer overpowered aspect of -every- card that is new (I just picked up performa whatever pendulums, had the game make me just a -random- deck out of -random- cards and i could not -believe- how absurdly powerful and consistant it was just with throw away cards, pendlums are -insane-)
Master Duel: this game makes it extremely easy to pick up any card you want. this makes it ideal for people who want to collect cards because it will eventually have more cards, and more accurate cards, if it doesnt already, than duel links. but since there PVE is pretty garbage and you're stuck facing 1 turn kill decks in pvp, its pretty much the worst game. If you could combine the game play of duel links, with the card acquisition system of master duel you'd have the perfect game.
cross duel is fun at first because its new and innovative, until you realize it really isnt that different at all. 3 players will just pick one person to burst down or you'll be up against 4x blue eyes players lol. but none of that is the problem. the problem is that it just isnt fun. i dont get any sense of accomplishment from winning in this game. i dont feel like i beat my opponent i feel like he got out numbered or just didnt have the cards. speaking of card acquisition this games system is easily the worst. with duel links and master duel you can acquire cards you want fairly easily either through structure decks or by crafting the secret pack card at will. But cross duel wants you to spend $100 and you'll still end up with nothing because its all random and you'll get 5 magic and 5 trap every time, and it will be the same ones everytime no matter how many times you buy the 1200 pull. im sure in a few years once more people are playing they'll add better ways to get cards but for now, its in the stone age and the only people with the strong cards are the people who spent $10,000 to make sure they would. IE, you can't pick or even attempt any specific card you want, its nothing but pure RNG.
Duel Links> Master Duel > Cross Duel
And thats a damn shame because that should be the other way around, but it isnt. Execution is everything.
Though I think legacy of the duelist is the best because you can just unlock all the cards right from the start and build whatever deck you want. -thats- fun. i dont want to have to farm for months and months just to get one card that costs $1 in real life.
Ironically Duel links has more variety because it's harder to get the cards for the latest flavor of the month meta deck in it without heavy whaling.
The crafting in Master Duel helps even the most lowly free to play warrior get meta decks, and while that is initially seen as a positive. It eventually leads to very boring repetitive game play. Where rather than 5% of the whales net decking -- it's damn near everyone.
