how to use "Heat wave" ? I don't understand.

I got "Heat wave"

"This card can only be activated at the start of Main Phase 1. Neither player can Normal or Special Summon an Effect Monster, until your next Draw Phase."

Anyone give me simple example?
I try to understand.

What's hard in it? When you activate it, you can only summon normal Monsters (without any effects). if you have an effect Monster and want to place it on the field, you nstead must normal set it (face down).

Normal monsters are monsters without effects, like Dark Magician or Blue Eyes

This card was only ever printed in 2010, which was before the problem-solving card text update in 2011... So I guess this card hasn't yet recieved an errata.

So if I were to update this with a PSCT-style errata I would do it like this:

"At the start of Main Phase 1: Until your next Draw Phase, neither player can Normal or Summon Effect Monsters (but they can be Normal Set)"

Note, a Fusion, Ritual or Synchro monster without an effect can still be Special Summoned as long as they are not effect monsters.

For example, since Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon has no effect, you could still summon it with Polymerization.
