I gues legacy of the dualist is meant for longer games.
The simple idea of owning all the HERO cards (released in game) in you collection and enjoying deck building anything (what Jaden does in the anime) is a DREAM for 99.999% of the playerbase. Actually, if you pause at anytime in the anime where Jaden has his own collection spread in the floor of his room, any duel links player would see hundreds of dollars worth of cards.
That doesn't make them the worst archetype it makes KONAMI a greedy company and treats it like trash which nobody is even remotely surprised by that. You can get a HERO deck anytime in the game and it will still be relevant since they still have cards they can add
not to mention a bunch of the cards are banned now and hero emerges always hits a monster when used by jaden... (is there a skill that does that?)
edit: also the meta is kinda too fast for old heros now... spending a few turns and several cards to get out a fusion with 2100-2400 attack isn't going to get you very far when harpies just sends it back to your extra deck with 1 card.
